ArchwayTeesside
Hi everybody, I just wanted to let any north east locals know about our service. Arch North East is a sexual violence service based in Middlesbrough. We provide free support to people across Teesside who have been affected by sexual violence. We provide an advisory service and a counselling service. Our ArchWay service is for anyone involved in sex work living/working in Teesside. This covers: Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, Redcar & Cleveland. The ArchWay ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) supports people involved in sex work, who may have experienced sexual crimes (i.e removal of condom without consent). This might be as part of work, or at any other time. No matter how recent or historic the incident/s might be, we can offer judgement free and confidential support. We are a charity and are independent of the police. • We also provide safety advice, information on reporting options, and can refer you to additional support if needed. • If someone decides to report to the police, we can support them through the criminal justice process. We can support you to report to the police, keep you informed of the investigation and support you at court. We ensure your voice is heard each step of the way. We can refer or signpost people to additional services such as: • Health • Counselling • Legal Services • Housing/Benefits If you have any queries, contact us via Whatsapp/Text on 07521517571 or e-mail project21@archnortheast.org, with no obligation to sign up to our service. ArchwayTeesside
Open to anybody living/working/advertising in #Teesside, be that working independently, online, indoors, outdoors, via agency, etc. We’re here to listen. We can support you whether the assault was recent or historic, no matter who the perpetrator was; punter or otherwise. We are here to support you whether you want to report to the police or not. We understand that there may be barriers to coming forward and talking about your experiences, but we can offer a discreet, safe space to do so without judgement. We will be sensitive to your needs and move at your pace. It’s not about telling you what to do but supporting you to make informed choices. An ISVA is completely independent of all other agencies and our only interest is in supporting you. We can talk through your options, helping you to decide if you want to report to the police or not. If you choose to do this, we can support you with each stage of the Criminal Justice process. We will work with the various agencies on your behalf, to make sure you have all the relevant information about your case and ensure that your voice and opinion is heard. Your ISVA can help you by: • Making sure you have the information you need to decide what to do about your experience of abuse • If you choose to report, keep you updated on the progress of the case and liaising with the police officer and Crown Prosecution Service on your behalf • Providing emotional support and assistance with practical issues • If the case goes to court, arranging for a pre-trial visit, and support you with what to expect in the build up to trial • Providing support during the trial and in the period afterwards to help you move forward • Work on your behalf to ensure that your rights under the victim’s code of practice are met • Provide support to access counselling You don’t have to report to the police if you don’t want to, the decision is entirely up to you, if you choose not to we can still help you to identify and access other services you may need. We can report incidents to National Ugly Mugs (NUM). We can also help you to join NUM so that as well as reporting yourself; you can also receive discreet alerts to your mobile phone/email about any potentially dangerous individuals. This is completely anonymous. Only your mobile phone number is needed which can never be shared with anyone without your consent. No pressure, No judgement and Led by you – the ARCHWay project covers: Teesside area: available to people living or working in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool & Redcar Visit our wesbite for more information or to self-refer 1 Link to comment
