Do you use your real age when advertising?

After a couple of years off, I'm going to start escorting again shortly and am trying to decide whether or not to use my real age (of 32) on my escort profile.

I prefer to honest but then, let's face it, an escort service is part fantasy anyway.

So is there any need for me to use my real age and could I lose any business compared with using 29, for example?

I tend to knock a few years off my real age when advertising. When it comes down to it, once clients have spoken with you and like what they hear, the age tends not to matter too much on the odd occasion i have been entirely honest - ie. when it involves a trip abroad using personal details for a clients holiday booking.. but thinking ahead, if i'm gonna be escorting a while, then I may aswell have age on my side..afterall, youth is a big attractor for many, so I like to edge my bets.

It may be that I'm too analytical but, when I was last escorting, I certainly noticed a drop in phone calls post 25. I think I'm going to start with 28 and see what the reaction is!

Patsy Stone was 39 for years, I don't think it really matters that much. I do know of a female escort though in Newcastle who was 35 for as long as I could remember, when in actual fact she was 53 at one stage. That was taking it to the extreme. I don't believe anyone ever believed she was 35

OK it sounds like I am in a minority here – about the age issue – but it goes much further than this – its also about the amount of bullshit that many escorts put on profiles – more of that later!

When I started escorting in Nov 2004 age 46 – I admit that for the first 6 months or so I did ‘knock about 5yrs off’ – but mainly from client feedback I soon realized that it was daft – in my case it was often – ‘I am looking for a mature escort because he should be more experienced – lol many escorts far younger I would say or more experienced than me! – and more often I know get the reaction ‘I can’t believe your 51!’ which always is a gr8 ego boost!

On this general principle – I definitely recommend that ALL escorts should be honest about age – it is more evident in the younger age group – so many will state 21 right thru till mid twenties – but hey clients are not daft – for example some latino guys who have the same ad every week in QX ( a London gay freebie ) or in GT have been 21 for years!

Many will avoid 18 > 21 – often with the reaction – well they wont be so experienced, I would rather have a guy mid 20’s – so ironically they may be missing out on some bookings – then there is ‘no way was he 21’ – ‘the photos must have been taken years ago’ – or even ‘the headless torso was definately not the same guy!

It also worked in reverse! – several years ago I used my best endeavours to persuade Gaydar to list a 21yo Malaysian lad – even with proof of age from his passport – was not enough to list – he looked about 16 and Gaydar felt this gave the wrong impression – perhaps he could make himself look older – how friggin absurd – ironically his asset was to ‘look’ underage.

NOW THEN – as to bullshit on profiles – oh don’t get me started!

COCK SIZE: Here is a good example: a few years ago an EX duo partner of first encounter reacted with ‘wow Michael you have a big cock’ – I responded ‘well m8 I suggest you re-assess your 8.5 inches, I am 7.5inches – and if generous I would give him 6.5 inches – yet still he advertizes 8.5inches extra large – but again clients are not fooled – so many have said ‘there was no way he was X inches’

For a few years guys used to insist I was more than the 7 inches I stated – so did re-check in a state of full on hard on – and will concede 7.5 – yet still I get ‘your defo more’ but I rather a client go away with that impression!

KISSING! Well I put this on my website: A client once asked if I kissed - This may seem an extraordinary thing to ask - well I thought that till recently - well a recent client who has had more than his share of disappointment with escorts not meeting expectations, informed me that I was the first escort to actually kiss - in TWELVE years! - I have been told by clients so many times that when they ask an escort - they often say "yes" then when they arrive its the usual: "sorry I only kiss my boyfriend" – I assume its more a case of when the client turns up – if he don’t ‘turn on’ the escort – then the goal posts are suddenly moved.

Well my advice – it’s all or nothing guys! – or at least say ‘kissing – sometimes’.

There is far too much bullshit on profiles – oh I offer this this this - when in reality…………..

It does untold damage to the reputation of the industry.

Finally despite clearly stating on my profiles that I will not do bareback – I still get asked – recently I asked ‘why are you asking me this when you have noted my profile’ and the response ‘often escorts say one thing and mean another’

If you look relatively young it is nothing wrong to keep your age 21 for a as long as you look 21-24. I have seen Thai guys mid-30's they looked like 18-20, advertised 22, all fresh and blooming. Why would they advertise their real age? Same goes to latino guys. It is a matter of personal choice, guys. If you convincing in it you will gain, if you are stupid you will lose. This is not some catholic honesty marathon. Everyone is his own boss and surely I agree with you- clients are far from stupid, YET... whern it comes to hook ups- paid for or not... there's is not much thinking to be done as the " head" used for decision-making contain no brain Honesty is good but the lies sell. When I first started out, I used my real age and pretty much most of the clients expected that I'd knocked a couple years off, which was annoying. Same with cock size which I still never lie about although I'm not sure there's a standard way of measuring ... Have done duos so many times with nine-inchers who I know for sure can't be over seven.

It doesn't matter once you meet the client and get to know them, but if you think it might help business, no prob taking a couple of years off I think... It's all about providing a fantasy, and if it's not too much a stretch for the imagination, eg if you look like you could be 21 but you're nearer 25, that's fine, say you're 21. It's partly about the fantasy you are selling to the client, though, isn't it? If the reality is close enough, and an extra two years could buy you maybe a couple of K over a career, what's wrong with posting a working age? Many post a working name or character that is markedly different to their real self. If we are talking penis sizes two inches larger than they actually are, etc, then we are in the realm of total bullshit.

I personally choose to deduct two years from my ads, and admit my real age to anybody who asks. The response has never been negative.
