Gaydar offline Fri 13th

I'm not sure if every member is experiencing this, but for me Gaydar's been offline most of today - and Friday's one of the busiest days. If you've had the same problem please send their online support team a complaint as they've almost certainly lost us business, and their rates aren't cheap. I'll be petitioning them for an extra couple of days - that's the least they should do. I don't care what their excuse is - I'm paying for a service which I'm not getting and, worse, I'm losing business because of it. I bet they'll push back with some lame excuse, but let's wait and see.

It's been 24 hours now and their excuse for a site is still not loading properly - especially the Commercial pages. I can see it's not happening to everyone as there are still about half the normal number of escorts managing to get online, but staying online is another matter as the site is just not working.

I've emailed Gaydar "support" three times now and had no response, plus there's nothing on their stupid home page about it either. Typical British customer service - pretend it isn't happening and it'll go away.

I know the head of marketing at Gaydar and if this continues I'll be dropping him a rude email. Talk about taking the piss.

Meanwhile can anyone else having the same problems (and I assume it's only some) please, please email the stupid fuckers and demand several days extension to our memberships? There's no way I'm paying for the last 24 hours, and nor should you.

I tried them all! They were all down. Seems to be working again now but it was still down for 24 hours. They'd better extend my membership.

At last the morons at gaydar have sent a message to members explaining, apologising and promising some sort of compensation by the sound of it. Though why it took them well over 24 hours to do this is beyond me. They have a paid customer services team - you'd think a catastrophic server failure might actually wake them from their lethargy but it seems not.

I usually like gaydar but jesus, when they fuck up, they fuck up big time.

My guess is that it may've only been one server, not all of them, and perhaps your info wasn't on the affected server. I'm not sure if that's how it works, but it's possible.

Either that or they don't have a system for mass communication - which they do, so that can't be it!

Yes I do, it's my main source of clients but I think it's a very particular market which I seem to fit.

It was down on .co.uk, .net and .com.au last week.

And now, as James points out, it's been off again all of this evening. I'll be demanding 2 free days for every day they've been off (3 in total so far) and I suggest any others who aren't happy do the same. Gaydar aren't usually too generous and if they let us down... well I have some ideas which may or may not work.

I hope they all piss off so many customers, that they go out of business or the customers simply go somewhere else.

I’ve just had a word with the head of marketing at gaydar and he’s set a few things straight. I don’t necessarily agree with him on all of them but I think it’s only fair to let you know what he’s said.

Firstly, he points out that gaydar kept their blog page and facebook pages updated with info and put up the ‘site down’ page quickly. He’s looking into ensuring that this page will include links to other sources of information in future.

Secondly, he points out that the site was down for 15 hours and much of this wasn’t peak time. He also pointed out the many advantages of being a commercial member which I won’t list here.

To be honest, it’s clear that this battle is over and 3 days is all we get. I may not agree with all of the above or the outcome but at least I’ve had an explanation as to what happened and the logic behind it. He will be giving me a response to post on there later this evening hopefully.
