Well The Working Men Project at St Mary's Hospital is London's only specialist sexual health service for male sex workers.

The project regards your confidentiality as very important. When registering with the project you don't have to use your real name, and will be given a 'P' number, which will ensure priority treatment on future visits.

No one will know you have been to visit the project. If you work in an agency or massage parlor, your boss or manager will not be informed of your visit.

In the past few years, over 800 sex workers have felt that the project offered enough security to allow them to use its services, making it the most appropriate clinic at which to receive your sexual health care.

I have been going for alomst four year during my whoring time in London, Well. I felt the service was so discreet and quick that i told other working boys and porn actors to use the service. Since working for Cashmodels in 2008 i have sent over 20 actors/escorts to the clinic to gets tested.

When you register with the Working Men Project, our Nurse Practitioner will assess your needs and record your personal details. These records are highly confidential and protected by law. No other government departments or agencies can gain access to them, the police, social security or immigration can not access these files - so there's no need for concerns if you don't have a valid visa to stay or work in the United Kingdom.

Upon registering everyone is offered a full sexual health screening . This involves taking blood to test for Syphilis and Hepatitis. HIV testing is offered, but this is your choice - no one's blood is tested for HIV without their permission. You will be examined and swabs will be taken from your throat, dick (penis) and arse (rectum). A urine sample is also required - it's important that you do not pee (pass urine) for at least two hours before attending the clinic for the tests to be effective.

Some of these tests results will not be available immediately, and an appointment will be arranged to collect the rest. Most of the infections discussed on this website are easily treated (but can cause problems if ignored) - that's why it's important if you sell sex to be checked at least every three to six months.

Jasper gives good advice - I have used the Working Men Project at Paddington - London for years - they are always helpful - and you can re-stock on plenty of condoms & lube - I do recommend the dotted ones love em!

Used to be very lazy at getting regular full sexual health MOT check inc HIV - well I vowed earlier in the summer to get an automatic check up every three months - which they can book for you in advance.

They ask escorts to complete 'Top 3 Tips for working as an escort' if you wish - which I think is a great idea.

The Working Men Project aims to provide a quality service of sexual health and HIV prevention. It is open to any men - no matter of sexuality, age, ethnicity or spiritual belief - who sell sex.

The project provides free, expert help in all aspects of sexual health, including screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and advice about HIV (the virus that can causes AIDS).

Help to register with a understanding GP and details of local dentists.

PEMS (Peer Education with Male Sexworkers) support and training programme for men selling sex, exploring issues such as self esteem and negotiating safety for clients.

Outreach services, the taking of sexual health advice and condoms supplies onto the street, into massage parlours / saunas and escort agencies and to the flats of men working privately from home.

At all times, a friendly and sympathetic atmosphere, with complete privacy and confidentiality.

Any advice on how to approach staff when seeking a full test, including blood, NOT to include HIV every time, would be appreciated. I have found that staff assume I am positive and a risk for infecting others when I make this approach. As a result, I will only get tested anonymously and have been unable to have a blood test for quite some time.

Hiya James-dont forget YOU are in charge and should just ask for the tests you want, any good GUM department should be happy to let you take charge of your sexual health. I would say its always best if you are sex working to get a HIV test every 3-6 months for your own peace of mind...

If you want (as I see you are in Lancs) you can come over to Liverpool & see my lovely nurse and she will do or not do whatever u want!
