Good news regarding an escort barred from Manchester Lads some time ago. I just wish I had removed him sooner.

A GAY escort blackmailed a married businessman who hired him for sex by threatening to tell his wife of their secret liaison.

John Walker, 29, was jailed after a court heard he sent the victim’s wife a picture of her husband on a hotel bed wearing a pair of kickers as he took drugs and watched gay pornography.

Leeds Crown Court heard Walker, of Kendal Drive, Halton, Leeds, extorted almost £5,000 from the 49-year-old victim before he went to police.

David Lampitt, prosecuting, said the victim contacted Walker via a gay escort website and made arrangements to meet him after paying him £1,800.

The two men then met in a hotel room at the Thorpe Park hotel, Colton, on February 5 this year where they took ketamine.
They then took a taxi to the Beeston area of the city to buy more drugs before returning to the hotel to have sex and watch pornography.

Mr Lampitt said the victim drove Walker to Huddersfield the next day. The prosecutor said: “The defendant told the complainant that he was cheating on his wife and thought it was disgusting. He warned the complainant that he should be more careful with his phone and wallet because people could extort money from him.”

The victim received a text message later that day which read: “Ring me or I will call your wife.”

Two days later Walker sent an e-mail to the victim which contained a photograph taken in the hotel room of him wearing knickers surrounded by pornography.

The court heard the victim sent Walker £3,000 from his business and personal bank accounts. Further sums were sent to Walker who then sent the victim a picture of his children.

On March 24 Walker sent a text to the victim’s wife which contained a video of him wearing the women’s underwear in the hotel room. Mr Lampitt said the victim then had to confess to his wife he had done.

Walker continued to make threats even after exposing the victim’s secret to his wife. He threatened to go to the police and tell them the victim had raped him.

Walker was arrested and said he had blackmailed the victim to fund his drug addiction.

Anthony Sugare, mitigating, said: “His behaviour could be described as nasty, almost to the point of wickedness. “But the complainant himself brought on some of this by his own foolish behaviour.”

Walker was jailed for 32 months.

Recorder Mark McKone said: “The complainant had been generous to you and that made you greedy. You embarked on a scheme to obtain money from him.”
